Last night, the Blackhawks faced the Winnipeg Jets. They were down 2-0 after the first period, but goals from Colin Blackwell and Tyler Johnson rallied them back and forced them into overtime. And in that OT period, Luke Richardson had an interesting line to start.

The line was Jason Dickinson, Nick Foligno, and Seth Jones. Connor Bedard never touched the ice.

According to Richardson after the game in an interview, his plan was to hold on to the puck and tire out the Jets starting group. However, Winnipeg's Kyle Connor scored just 25 seconds in.

«Luke Richardson's explanation for Dickinson and Foligno starting the OT was that the hope was to control the puck longer and try to tire-out the Jets starting group, then get Kurashev and Bedard on the ice

That didn't happen»

If you want to tire out the Jets, you don't put your slowest skaters out on the ice. And Bedard should always start an overtime period, no matter the situation.
