Connor Bedard has scored his tenth goal of the season, under the leadership of Anders Sorensen, and put the Chicago Blackhawks up 1-0 over the Stars.

The power-play goal was Bedard's tenth of the season, and fourth power-play goal this year.

It was scored off a deflection at the side of the net, an unusual spot for Bedard who is typically not found in the dirty areas.

But he'd take advantage of Jake Oettinger who couldn't see through his own players who unintentionally screened him.

Bedard would score the goal at 12:14 of the 1st Period giving the Blackhawks at lead over Peter DeBoer's Stars.

That power-play goal will put him at 32 points( 10 G, 22 A) in 37 games this season for the Blackhawks.

He's not producing at a point-per-game clip yet, but it's still early in the season, and he is just now heating up it seems.

Is His Shot Still Elite?

Can Bedard bring himself out of the sophomore slump after this game and put him back into the conversation of elite players drafted in 2023?

Bedard has this great shot that is praised, but I'd argue that he still has to figure out how to utilize it better at the NHL level. For a shooter like himself, he hasn't been over an 11% shooting percentage in his career yet. Michkov is sitting at 15.9%, and that's with taking 23 shots over the last nine games without a goal.

If anything he should look to Matvei Michkov, and find a way to take inspiration from him and lap him in shooting percentage.

With Anders Sorensen's help, this shouldn't be an issue for the 19-year old.
