Where GM Kyle Davidson Could Send This Former 1st-round Pick

Lukas Reichel has had more than a fair shake in Chicago, as the former 17th overall pick during the 2020 NHL draft has found himself a healthy scratch near the end of the season.

He found his stride earlier this year, paired with Pat Maroon, and Craig Smith on the fourth line, creating chances, and scoring points.

Reichel showed a lot of confidence we weren't used to seeing last season.

But now, it appears with Anders Sorensen cutting him out of the lineup, it could be time to give him a fresh start elsewhere.

Where could GM Kyle Davidson send him?

Bleacher Nation has an interesting trade in which the Islanders and Lou Lamiorello would come make a deal for Reichel.

The catch? The Blackhawks would receive a top-line, veteran in Anders Lee, who is a better producer than the majority of the veterans in the lineup now.

Of course, Reichel wouldn't be the only one heading to New York, as Wyatt Kaiser and two draft picks would be attached.

But it'd give the depth in Chicago a chance at more playing time elsewhere, and that'd be on Long Island.

The Isles would be relieves of $6 million in cap space, and they get a forward who has some speed in Reichel.

The Blackhawks could use someone like Lee, who could serve in a top-line role for the Hawks.

While they could easily absorb his salary, and given the plethora of draft picks, could utilize them to strengthen the forward core.

Connor Bedard would have a mentor, which someone like Taylor Hall has been unable to perform during his time here.
