Taylor Hall has been in the National Hockey League for over twelve years and has yet to stick with a team consistently, originally drafted first overall in the 2010 draft Hall quickly bloomed in a Oilers jersey in just his second season scoring 27 goals tallying up 53 points, just two seasons later in 2014 he blew expectations scoring another 27 goals- but putting up 80 points while doing so.

Hall was expected to be McDavid's iconic duo when Connor was drafted in 2015, but things quickly changed, he was traded the next season for Adam Larsson which is now on the Seattle Kraken.. but, Taylor Hall could have been a Ottawa Senator? A deal was in place, a one for one trade that would see the Edmonton Oilers send former 1st overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft for former 15th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, however it just needed to be cleared by
Ottawa management. Before the trade had been cleared by Senators
management the Oilers pulled the trigger to send Hall to New Jersey for Defenceman Adam Larsson. Hall had been coming off of his first full 82 game season recording 26 goals and 39 assists for a total of 65
points. Ceci had played in 75 games had 10 goals and 16 assists
for 26 points. Often times this nixed trade gets looked upon as one that Melnyk made because of his six million dollar cap hit, but in reality it wasn't all that, during this time Travis Yost reported the Senators willing to deal Ceci for Eberle
