Sunday in the NHL was quieter than usual, with only a couple of early games due to Superbowl Sunday. Nonetheless, waiver wire action stirred some movement.

First, the Winnipeg Jets placed 29-year-old center Dominic Toninato on waivers. Toninato has recorded 5 points in 15 games this season and carries an affordable $775,000 cap hit for another year.

However, the day's biggest waiver news came from the Detroit Red Wings, who placed 27-year-old center Nolan Stevens on unconditional waivers, signaling a contract termination after his stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
