Yesterday, I caught a little backlash for posting a doom and gloom article about the beginning of the end for the Chicago Blackhawks. I know things are rough right now, and we don't need to pile on. If, however, we are going to report the truth of this team, we need to look at all angles- good or bad.
Today, I have good news- REDEMPTION. On this day, one year ago, our Chicago Blackhawks completed a three goal deficit comeback to beat the Nashville Predators in overtime, 5-4.
Midway through the third period, our beloved Hawks were down 4-1.
Wyatt Kalynuk, Vinnie Hinostroza and Dominik Kubalik scored to tie the game. (Gaining a lot of game experience in Rockford should have Kalynuk ready to make a splash with the Blackhawks next season. He showed some good things in his brief play in Chicago.)
Regulation ended in a 4-4 tie. In overtime, former Hawk Brandon Hagel tallied the overtime winner putting the puck past Juuse Saros. It was an excellent comeback, and hopefully, will wash the bad taste out of everyone's mouth from yesterday's article.
