Minnesota Wild's Ryan Hartman was dealt a 10-game suspension by the NHL Department of Player Safety Committee, the longest we have witnessed in quite some time, and he has now made the decision on whether or not he will appeal it or not.

Former Chicago Blackhawk, turned Minnesota Wild winger Ryan Hartman was dealt a 10-game suspension for actions against Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle, after being ejected for 'roughing' in their 6-0 loss to the Senators on Saturday, Feb 1.
What lead to Hartman's unhappiness and frustration towards the Ottawa Senators forward was a two-handed slash earlier on in the game.
Hynes going nuts, understandably. Hartman was 2-hand slashed. Stutzle, of all players, drawing an embellishment is rich
Said Wild team reporter, Michael Russo.
Stutzle left the game momentarily, but did return with a bit of blood on him.

Wild's Ryan Hartman will be appealing his 10-game suspension to the NHL

Ryan Hartman appears to disagree with the NHL's decision on length of punishment, and he will appeal it, according to a report from Sarah McLellan, a Minnesota Wild beat reporter.
"This is Hartman's fifth suspension and fourth since 2023. The collective bargaining agreement states, "Players who repeatedly violate league playing rules shall be more severely punished for each new violation."
According to CBC
So it is quite the odd decision that Hartman believes he can get any less of a punishment, due to the circumstances of his past.
In the case that Hartman wouldn't appeal, he would be forfeiting a whopping $487,804.90 of his salary, which would be handed over to the NHL's players emergency fund.
The $487,804.90 is 12% of Hartman's salary, after signing a 3-year, $12 million contract with the Wild, announced in October of 2023.
