Veteran goaltender makes official return to Chicago
Carolina Hurricanes have sent a goalie to the Chicago Wolves in the AHL on waivers.
Antti Raanta was sent to Chicago along with two other players, as he had only played 24 games this season.
This season, the goaltender had a 12-7-2 record with a 2.99 GAA and a .872 save percentage in 20 starts.
Despite a decent defensive team in the Carolina Hurricanes, Raanta had a career-worst season this year.
Raanta, however, has been injured and has been reduced to a depth role with Frederik Anderson returning.
In spite of that, he has decent career stats if someone wants a nice depth player while healthy.
The 2022-2023 season saw him play 52 games and put up a respectable 34-8-7 record, with a save percentage of .911.
When he's healthy, he's a proven option in the net for any team that needs one.
