Goalie fight involving the Chicago Blackhawks breaks loose
The holiday spirit took a backseat on Saturday night as the Indy Fuel, the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, faced off against the Fort Wayne Komets in a heated showdown.
The intensity escalated to the point where a goalie fight erupted on the ice.
The spirited tilt was between 26-year-old Zach Driscoll representing the Blackhawks organization Indy Fuel and 21-year-old Brett Brochu defending the Fort Wayne Komets.
Despite the goalie gear, both players exhibited effort, engaging in a bout that left them visibly fatigued when officials intervened.
While the fight may have been more awkward than impactful, it proved to be an entertaining tilt before the year of 2023 ends.
