Blackhawks optional practice shows true colors of players

Chicago Blackhawks are 16-42-5 and hope to improve their record against the Washington Capitals tonight.
To beat Ovechkin and the Capitals, they'll have to play consistently on both ends and have great goal support.
Today was an optional skate, which provided players with an opportunity to get some ice time before the game.
There have been rumors that it's been used to protect teams from hungover players.
It seems, however, that only those who are most dedicated will find it helpful in improving.
Given the history established, it makes sense that Connor Bedard and Kevin Korchinski would be out getting in as much practice time as possible.
As a result of their single-minded dedication to improving, the two have infuriated teammates such as
Corey Perry in the past.
It seems that many players who were injured prior and are traveling with the team, like Athanasiou and Zaitsev, put in the work so they can eventually return to the ice.
The team is still working on its identity, but they have a lot of dedicated workers on their side.
