A funny situation happened during the Columbus Blue Jackets game with the Toronto Maple Leafs, involving Auston Matthews and Elvis Merzlikins.
Both Matthews and Merzlikins lost and stole each other's stick simultaneously.

While I've never heard of such a penalty, it sounds ridiculous as neither player had access to their original equipment, thanks to the game's speed.
The goalie stick Matthews held looks hilarious, yet he could not take advantage of it--no goal for the Leafs superstar.
Even worse for Matthews, he's spent quite a bit of time off the ice due to nursing an injury and he's seen a decrease in production, scoring only 19 points in 33 games.
