Calgary Flames
The fact that Jonathan Toews doesn't want to play on a rebuilding team it seems, makes his list of teams pretty select. Calgary definitely would fall under that list of teams. The Blackhawks and Flames also have some recent dealings with Ryan Carpenter being dealt to Calgary at the trade deadline. So the front offices are clearly able to do business cordially with one another. The Flames are a Stanley Cup contender as is, and adding someone like a Jonathan Toews is only going to make them that much stronger.
Anaheim Ducks
Probably the least likely of the destinations on this list, Anaheim is another possible landing spot for Jonathan Toews. The Ducks have 1st and 2nd round picks in both the 2022 and 2023 draft. One can only imagine though if Brandon Hagel went for two first, Toews has to get at least 1st rounder in return. Which Anaheim may not want to give up for someone who would probably be second line center. Because at this point in his career, it's hard to think of a scenario where Anaheim would go with Toews over Trevor Zegras. However, they did show at the deadline that they are not afraid to be sellers, so never say never.
Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets makes a lot of sense as a possible landing spot for Jonathan Toews. First and foremost, Toews is a native of Winnipeg and would probably love nothing more than to be able to play out the remainder of his career in front of a hometown crowd. The Jets have the 13th pick of the 2022 draft and the 15th pick in the 2023 draft. Both of which could be vital to the rebuild of the Blackhawks. In addition, a trade involving those picks would fit right into the plan that Kyle Davidson put into place of "building through the draft". A trade like this also makes up for the blunder of not trading Calvin de Haan and Dominik Kubalik at the trade deadline. Trading Jonathan Toews to Winnipeg would be a win-win for both teams.
