The Chicago Blackhawks lost to the Buffalo Sabres in Overtime, 4-3.

Here are 5 thoughts on the game:

1. Rough 1st Period: It was very rough. Nothing was working, and Buffalo got off to a 1-0 lead to start. Add in only six shots on goal, it wasn't an ideal start for Chicago.

2. Dump and Chase Doesn't Work: It just doesn't work. Nothing happens off it, and it's just boring hockey. We did it in the 1st Period, and we stopped it in the 2nd. We scored two goals that period, making it 3-1. We came back to the dump and chase in the 3rd and we paid for it in Overtime.

3. Arvid Söderblom Impressive Showing: You can't let up 45 shots and expect to win a game, but Arvid gave us a chance. The Undrafted Free Agent walked out of that game saving 41 shots, a great stat for the 23 year old goaltender. This wasn't Söderblom's first start, but it was certainly the best one he had in his short career.

4. They Keep Falling Apart: They have got to stop this. The Hawks blew a 3-1 lead in the 3rd, leading to a Victor Olofsson goal in Overtime. It looks like we get to comfortable and conservative, and we lose control of the game. Or it could be they get tired. Whatever it is, Chicago better fix it before it gets too late.

5. An Exciting Game: This was Chicago's second Overtime game of the year, and it certainly had everything. Power Plays and Penalty Kills, each team throwing Coaches Challenges, Overtime, overturned calls, overturned goals, etc. It was an exciting game, it's too bad we couldn't have hung on at the end to secure the win.
