BREAKING: Washington Capitals Lose a Key Forward For 6-8 Months
The Washington Capitals struggled in the playoffs due to losing one key piece, and that was Tom Wilson. Wilson missed multiple games and the Capitals lost out on the big power forward, and it sure showed their lack of leadership with #43 out of the lineup.
Wilson underwent a successful surgical procedure on his left knee to reconstruct his torn ACL. Based on the nature of this procedure, Wilson is expected to miss 6-8 months to recover and rehab that knee.
Tom Wilson- "It was kind of a weird, kind of freak thing," Wilson said in mid- May, after Washington was eliminated from the playoffs. "I went into the hit and tweaked my knee. Everything you guys heard was honest. I was doing everything I could to try to get back. It was just one of those things where I wasn't able to."
