It's been a rough season, not just for the Chicago Blackhawks but also Blackhawks defenceman Jarred Tinordi. The former Montreal Canadiens 1st round draft pick is trying to make an impact for the Blackhawks defence core but can't seem to catch a break.
After recovering from a hip injury Tinordi would replace Caleb Jones Friday night vs the Winnipeg Jets. But just seconds into the very first shift of the game, Tinordi left the game for an unknown reason at the time. It turned out he took an inadvertent skate to his jaw area from Winnipeg Jets forward Michael Eyssimont, which nobody saw in real time because it happened so fast. It did help explain why there was a confusing delay a minute or two later because of blood on the ice.
Tinordi was then wearing a full shield but decided to remove it for tonight's game vs the New York Rangers. That turned out to be a bad decision for Tinordi who would take a puck to the face from a Ranger, leaving a bloody mess for the clean up crew.
Tinordi would go right to the bench to receive some attention. Unfortunately for the Blackhawks, Tinordi didn't return for the 3rd period and could be out of the lineup even longer then just tonight.
