The NCAA Men's Ice Hockey tournament is finally upon us. The Blackhawks have 5 prospects competing in the tournament, so let's take a look at who they play for and who they will be going up against in the first round.
Wyatt Kaiser and Connor Kelley: Minnesota-Duluth
Wyatt Kaiser, Connor Kelley, and the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs come into this first round with a 21-15-4 record on the season. They will be taking on Michigan Tech who have record of 21-12-3. Minnesota-Duluth is the 2 seed in this region (Loveland) and Michigan Tech is the 3 seed.
Landon Slaggert and Ryder Rolston: Notre Dame
The second pair of teammate prospects in this tournament, Slager and Rolston and the rest of the Fighting Irisht will be taking on North Dakota in the first round. Notre Dame is the 3 seed in the region coming in with a record of 27-11-0. And North Dakota is the 2 seed and they have a record of 24-13-1.
Stanislav «Slava» Demin
Slava Demin is a defenseman for UMass. They come in as the 4 seed in their region with a 21-10-3 record. They'll be taking on the 1 seed Denver, who have a record of 27-9-1 on the year. Interesting match-up for Demin I imagine, as he is a transfer from Denver, he played there for three years.
