Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Trade Officially Completed
Even though the Chicago Blackhawks are not in the playoffs this year, there is still plenty of excitement surrounding the team. One reason for fans to pay attention is the Brandon Hagel trade. Hagel was traded from the Blackhawks to the Tampa Bay Lightning, who were eliminated from the playoffs last night. However, the trade contained a stipulation that could be a significant win for the Blackhawks.
As part of the deal, the Blackhawks would receive a 2nd round pick from the Lightning. But, if the Lightning were to lose in the first round, the draft pick would upgrade to a 1st round pick for the Blackhawks. This condition was met, and the Blackhawks will now receive a highly coveted first-round pick in the upcoming NHL Draft. The trade is officially completed.
This trade is just one example of the Blackhawks' commitment to building a strong future for the team. Fans can expect more exciting developments from the organization in the coming years.
