Blackhawks prospect defenseman puts on a show for Icehogs.
The Vlasic family name has become a pedigree name throughout professional hockey. Numerous descendants of this family have been throughout various levels of the sport including well-known NHL defenseman Marc Edouard Vlasic who currently plays for the San Jose Sharks.
There is another defenseman who shares this name and is the cousin of Marc Edouard, by the name of Alex Vlasic. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2019, in the second round 43rd pick overall. Standing at 6 foot 6 and 199 pounds, the 21-year-old defenseman certainly has the size and strength to become a regular with the Blackhawks next year.
He plays for the Rockford IceHogs the affiliate for the Blackhawks and the team is currently in its playoff run and is in the second round. Vlasic has been putting on a show with numerous points and assists.
Blackhawks have high hopes for this young man as the team continues to evaluate and begin their rapid rebuilding phase as they will have numerous draft picks in the next coming two years of the draft.
Vlasic Should continue to accelerate and become part of the Blackhawks' future very soon.
The Icehogs are set to meet the Texas Stars in the next round. Game one will be on April 28th at 7:00 PM.
