Last season was the worst season ever for the Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens would finish dead last in the NHL with a 22-49-11 record after making it to the Stanley Cup final the previous year.
The Canadiens were also without a Captain after Shea Weber was unable to play due to Injures. Now the Canadiens are looking to name their newest captain of the NHL's winningest franchise.
However, it appears as though a new leadership is on the horizon for the bleu, blanc et rouge.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, he believes it will be forward Brendan Gallagher, who is the second longes tenured member of the Habs behind goaltender Carey Price, who will be donning the C and officially succeeding Weber.
"I'd be really surprised if it wasn't Gallagher." - David Pagnotta
Drafted 147th overall by the Habs in 2010, Gallagher has appeared in 638 career games, scoring 194 goals and 187 assists. He also has 31 points in 71 career postseason games.
