Defenseman Playing Forward? Eastern Conference Team Forced to After Cap Issues
The Pittsburgh Penguins are facing some tough salary restrictions this season while paying big bucks to guys like Crosby, Letang, and Malkin.
The Penguins have less than $90,000 to work with in cap space this season, and with recent injuries, they do not have room to make any call-ups.
The only way the team could make a call up is if a player goes to the Long-Term Injured Reserve list, which doesn't seem likely.
The Penguins had defensemen Chad Ruhwedel play forward in there two most recent games, tough luck with the salary crunch.
