Disturbing scene involving two former Blackhawks results in NHL hearing
A Sunday matchup between the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings resulted in a resounding loss for the Wild. With a 3-goal gap, the Wings would hand them a 4-1 defeat.
There would be two former Blackhawks involved in the matchup, and it would not be for the better.
Alex DeBrincat was slewfooted/tripped by Ryan Hartman, a former Blackhawk who had only four shots on goal.
Hartman would escape punishment, but the retaliation for the slew-footing would not. The NHL of today just doesn't make sense, does it?
Minnesota's Ryan Hartman will have a hearing tomorrow for slew-footing/tripping Detroit's Alex DeBrincat.
Meanwhile, the Department of player safety will hold a hearing for Ryan Hartman's behavior on the ice during Sunday's game, continuing its inconsistent enforcement practices.
Hartman slew foots DeBrincat - no call on that play, but Detroit is penalized for DeBrincat's retaliation. #LGRW
After a lackluster performance last season, Hartman has 7 goals and 11 points in 18 games this year.
DeBrincat however, has been a point-per-game producer, with 12 goals and 8 assists for 20 points during the 2023-2024 season.
