The NHL recently handed out its awards for the 2021-22 season and many were happy to see Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price win the Bill Masterton Trophy after his well documented struggles and determination to return to the line up this season in Montreal.
However we know there's always going to be someone to be that one guy that has to hate. But the comments by Quebec journalist Rejean Tremblay crossed the line and have the hockey world calling for his termination from 91.9 Sports.
Tremblay was talking aboutCarey Price's record and his winning of Bill Masterton Trophy and Tremblay didn't in his sad excuse of an opinion believe Price doesn't deserve this honor, given to a player who has shown perseverance. But that's not enough as everyone knew Price signed himself into a substance abuse program with the NHLPA this past October to get better for himself and family.
A move that was supported by most of the hockey world but Tremblay would make one of the most disrespectful comments we've ever seen from a journalist saying:
"Is every alcoholic in Montreal going to deserve a trophy?" - Réjean Tremblay
According to many, Tremblay went way too far and 91.9 Sports eventually deleted his post, which says a lot.
