Former Blackhawk, Adam Boqvist, has been sidelined once again. Per Blue Jackets PR, Boqvist will miss six weeks with a broken foot. This is a blow to the Blue Jackets blue line and in a way, a *small* win for the Blackhawks.
As we all know by now, Adam Boqvist was sent to the Blue Jackets along with picks in exchange for Seth Jones. At the time it was a dreaded trade, and truthfully it still is to some degree. However, it's worth noting that Boqvist still has yet to play a full NHL season. This is his fourth season. Not being able to complete a full NHL season is a crushing blow to any player, but especially a player trying to develop and reach their potential. Boqvist played a career high 52 games last season and is already going to miss a chunk of games this season. Meanwhile in Chicago, Seth Jones played in 78 games last season and has played in all six Blackhawks games this season.
While the season is still young, the Blackhawks look shockingly impressive. If the Blackhawks can find a way to keep this up, then perhaps the Seth Jones trade wasn't *as* bad as thought. However, this can be revisited in a few months.
