t was just over 5 years ago when the Blackhawks played some of the most insane last period minutes of a game in their history. Chicago was down 3-1, and with 9:43 left, Duncan Keith took a shot that was redirected by Toews, right into the goal. Hawks down by 1. Seventeen seconds later, Richard Panik tied it up. Still, over nine minutes in hockey is a lot of time - more than enough time for Artemi Panarin to score another goal for the lead, making the tally 3 goals in 34 seconds. That became the 3rd fastest time in franchise history, sitting 4 seconds ahead of the 1983-84 goals of Denis Savard (2) and Steve Larmer. However, it stands to reason that the number one record may never be broken - Bill Mosienko and his 21 second hat trick. The Hawks had taken the lead, 4-3, but didn't stop there. Toews scored again, making it 4 goals in 3:02, and in the final 1.6 seconds, Marcus Kruger nabbed the EN for a 6-3 comeback win.
And as much fun and memorable as it is to be at these games, I think watching them on TV can be just as thrilling. Especially when your commentator is Pat Foley. Just listen to that pure joy!
And even though I haven't been a Hawks fan for as long as others, Pat Foley made my life as an out of town fan so much better. My first ever Blackhawks game was at the start of this season. So the majority of my updates were given by the legend, himself. I honestly think that's what helped propel me from a low-key fan to a «Excuse me for a second, I have to check the Hawks score» fan. And I will be forever grateful to him for it.
