Martin St. Louis is Having Issues With His Player, Decides to Bench Him
Martin St. Louis is beginning his first full season as an NHL head coach, after filling in as interim head coach last season.
St. Louis is having issues with one specific player; that player is
Jonathan Drouin.
Drouin has history of starting a little drama of late, as he stated he wanted a fresh start. Drouin has also had difficulty respecting St. Louis as his head coach, which definitely does not bode well for Drouin.
Media is now suspecting that their issues last year have carried over to this season because of the two most recent instances.
St. Louis also had Drouin sit on the bench during a 30-minute team drill the other day.
Now, St. Louis has made the decision to make Drouin a healthy scratch for the season opener.
The future could be a little rough for Drouin in Montreal as long as St. Louis feels as though he does not respect him enough as a head coach.
Drouin could have been with the Tampa Bay Lightning but decided that he did not want to be a part of that organization.
