NHL insider and Sportsnets Elliote Friedman has revealed two teams who are struggling deeply discussed a trade, but one player involved in the swap refused to be traded to to the one destination which left him being sent down to the AHL.

Friedman states the deal was to send defensemen Tyler Myers to the Ottawa Senators, the Senators were going to send Nikita Zaitsev to Vancouver in the exchange, but Zaitsev refused as he has a NMC (no-movement clause) which included the Canucks as one destination he will NOT be traded to.

Before Zaitsev was waived by the Ottawa Senators weeks ago he was caught private messaging a Senators fan, and even threatened him. The whole situation was a mess and even involved Zaitsev's mom and dad messaging and harrasing the Sens fan, calling him fat and other harsh names.. all for posting a meme taking a small shot at Zaitsev's play, but as a NHL player you must learn to block out the hate.

Zaitsev is now in the minors and will not be given a shot at the Senators roster, tough luck.. but never take playing in the NHL for granted!
