You can easily compare Patrick Kane to the Claude Giroux in Philadelphia situation. Claude is currently aging, and the Flyers were going no where, practically rebuilding like the Blackhawks. Giroux's time in the NHL with the Flyers was amazing, just like Kane, but he did not want to spend his remaining years in a rebuilding organization, losing.
Kane has recently spoken out in the Blackhawks first media day this past Thursday, and he was questioned on the trade rumors surrounding. Kane mentioned there has yet to be any serious discussions this summer regarding a trade, the only trade talk Kane says, has been in a jokingly matter with his friends back home.
Despite Kane confirming their has been no trade chatter this off-season, that does not change the fact that him and the Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson have a 'open door policy'', which means if Kane wants out, Davidson is all for moving Kane to be happy.
Recent news has been brought to the attention of the NHL social media feeds, and that news is brought to us by NHL insider and analyst Kevin Weekes, who got a inside scoop and confirmed Patrick Kane's top 3 preferred destinations if' he were to be traded..
Those 3 destinations are listed as the following:
-Edmonton Oilers.
-New York Rangers (reuniting with his best friend, Artemi Panarin).
-Washington Capitals (where two of his teammates were just traded, one including his good friend Dylan Strome).
Kevin Weekes on ESPN radio: «Patrick Kane has stated several times that he does not want to be a Leaf, and that he wants to go to a team that he feels actually has a chance at the Stanley Cup.»
Kane took a shot at the Toronto Maple Leafs, but I must agree, why would Toronto be one of your destinations if you are in search for another Stanley Cup?
