NHL Player Safety Will be Reviewing This Dangerous Punch That Lost Seattle The Game
The Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets faced off in a heated game last night that consisted of many scrums after the whistles and a short-lived three on three overtime period. It also consisted of Carson Soucy, a Seattle Kraken defensemen earning himself a hearing with the NHLs Player Safety committee.
The play is extremely dangerous and is almost similar to the vintage ''Todd Bertuzzi punch'' to the back of the head in the 2004 season.
Punches to the back of the head are extermly dangerous and uncalled for, hit the person anywhere else, because the back of the head is a place where our key motoric and brain functions are located. A single punch to the back of the head can cause serious spinal cord and brain injury that could be fatal in some cases.
Soucy earned himself a well deserved penalty, and the Winnipeg Jets tied the game with just three seconds to spare while Soucy was still in the box.
And under a minute into overtime, the Jets got the true revenge, and scored the game winning goal quickly.
