NHL Player Shares Photos: Hit With a 90mph Slapshot and 16 stitches

When the Wild and Red Wings played each other one player was on the receiving end of blocking a shot.
Unfortunately for Red Wings forward Matt Luff he didn't intend to block a
Matt Dumba shot with his face.
That is exactly what happened, however, as the forward was circling the zone trying to cut off a shooting lane, when the puck hit him square in the chin.
Luff went down in a heap and was later given 16 stitches to close up the battle wound.
Everything happens so fast in the NHL, in a matter of seconds things went from totally fine, to a bloody mess.
