Washington Capitals star defenseman John Carlson suffered a scary injury during the Capitals' December 23rd matchup against the Winnipeg Jets. Carlson was hit in the ear by a slapshot and was placed on IR due to his injuries.
John Carlson's wife provided quite the gruesome update in regards to his injury. Apparently, Carlson's ear had to be surgically reattached after it was left hanging from the force of the slapshot.
Carlson was recently placed on LTIR and will get some much needed rest before the playoffs roll around. Hopefully Carlson can come back better than ever and help the Capitals' quest for the cup.
