Ottawa Senators Owner to Honour, and Help Ukraine Financially in Many Ways
MARCH 2nd- Ottawa Senators Owner, Eugene Melnyk says "I am a proud and patriotic Canadian, born and raised in this special country. I am also a proud Ukrainian", as Eugene's parents were both born in the country Ukraine, the second-largest country in Europe.
He has specified that he agrees and supports the decisions the NHL have made within the past two weeks, regarding Ukraines condition after being invaded by Russia.

-The Ukrainian national anthem will be played before every home game, as well as the Canadian and U.S anthems, for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.
-The Senators will be utilizing upcoming 50/50 draws to allow the Senators Community Foundation to donate to some of the organizations currently providing humanitarian and medical assistance to Ukraine.
-The Senators will work with the Ukrainian Community in Ottawa to find ways in which the Canadian Tire Centre may be used as a drop off point to collect donations of clothing, medical supplies and other items for those in need in Ukraine and the thousands who have escaped safely.
-As honourary director of Help Us Help The Children (HUHC), a humanitarian organization focused on aid and educational projects for disadvantaged children in Ukraine and Canada, i look forward to continuing all my support of all their efforts.
Finishing off his statement with the following: "As an organization and community, i am confident that our collective actions and contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of Ukrainians who are currently under siege. I hope you will join me and the Ottawa Senators help to make that happen"
