Patrick Kane has been as consistent as they come during his hall of fame career in Chicago. For many years, Kane was the heartbeat that fueled the Blackhawks playoff successes and Stanley Cup wins. With a two point performance in Ottawa on Friday night, Kane once again made Blackhawks history.
Kane has surpassed former Blackhawk Jeremy Roenick on the NHL's points by an American player list. Kane now has 1,217 career points, and only trails Phil Housley's 2nd place spot by 15 points. Kane should be able to pass Housley by the end of this season, leaving his sights set on Mike Madano's record of 1,374 points.
Kane has had a slow season goal wise, but shouldn't have any trouble shattering Madano's record by the time he decides to hang up the skates. With Kane's future in Chicago still in question, hopefully he can break Madano's record of 1,374 points in a Blackhawks sweater.
