Well, not today, as I am here to share that the Senators called the Blackhawks inquiring about defenseman, Seth Jones.
This report is brought to us by Elliote Friedman, via Bleacher Nation.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like anything is in the works at all during this time. Jones, 28, has a pretty hefty contract that is in just year one of a seven year deal.
The Ottawa Senators have so much cap space trouble at the moment that they don't even know if they can attempt to resign Alex DeBrincat for next year.
Jones is a solid player, but his talent and contract are a poor use of resources for this rebuilding, and mightily struggling, Blackhawks squad.
I said I got to talk about a player other than Kane or Toews, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to update you on them.
With recent moves from the New York Rangers, they now have the financial flexibility to make a push for Kane and the remaining $10.5M on his contract.
They just manhandled the Blackhawks last night, 7-1, while getting outshot 30-26. So, it makes you wonder if Kaner had any thoughts about what it would be like to be playing for the other team at the UC last night.
It seems the Rangers are making moves to be able to make a big splash at the deadline, and with Artemi Panarin on the squad, they seem like the perfect fit for Kaner.
