The Montreal Canadiens made a bold selection at this years past NHL draft, all fingers pointed to the projected first-overall pick Shane Wright to land in Montreal, as they held the first overall pick.

A quick shift in feelings changed for multiple NHL franchises that had a top-3 draft pick, that shift in feelings surrounded Shane Wright and a reported attitude issue with multiple NHL teams.

That attitude change held Shane Wright from being drafted within the first three picks, and the Canadiens drafting 6-foot 4 dominant Juraj Slafkovsky.

Slafkovsky has gained over twenty pounds since being drafted, and weighs more than Alexander Ovechkin, and is top 5 in heaviest players in the NHL. Despite being a big bodied player, he is the first overall pick which draws a lot of attention to him.

Slafkovsky was named to the Canadiens prospect roster, where in game one, a Buffalo Sabres prospect attempted to blindside Juraj Slafkovsky with a big hit, the Sabres prospect found out Slaf is a brick wall and it did not end too well for him, and caused a fight.

Slaf seemed fine, but the day after receiving the hit, the Canadiens made a announcement...

Sadly, it has came to the medias attention that Slafkovsky will not participate in the rest of the Canadiens prospect games, and it may have came from the heavy hit. Slafkovsky appeared to look fine after the hit, but it was quite the impact.. Take a look at the blow below..

Now, we can only pray the Habs have decided to keep Slafkovsky out of the remainder of the rookie games to protect the first overall pick, and that it is not because of a injury..
