REPORT: NHL Insider Reveals What The Blackhawks Will Receive For Patrick Kane if he ends up being traded

Patrick Kane is the biggest name to hit the free-agent market after this season, and until that time hits teams may explore Kane as a trade-deadline acquisition to help their playoff run.

This may be the biggest trade in Chicago Blackhawks history if it happens, or maybe not..

Chicago Blackhawks fans were not too happy when Alex DeBrincat, Kane's line-mate was traded this off-season for a underwhelming return which included the seventh overall pick, and Blackhawks fans may need to prepare themselves for another similar situation.

Patrick Kane and Claude Giroux share the same exact agent, Kane is now in a similar situation as Giroux was at this time last year. Giroux, much like Kane, spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Flyers until he was left to make a decision on if he wanted a shot at a Stanley Cup and playoff sucess through his final few years in the NHL, or if he wanted to stay with a struggling franchise which may result in a miserable career end.

Pat Brisson, Kane and Giroux's agent, shared the following information on a potential Patrick Kane relocation, and it's not for the sake of heart for Blackhawks fans..

It's looking like Kane may fetch a similar return as Giroux did, which was a first round pick and a prospect. Do you think Kane will get more value? Well, so did we when Artemi Panarin got traded, Teuvo Teravainen, Alex DeBrincat and many other big names who fall under the category of the biggest Blackhawks mistakes throughout the most recent years.

''It's very similar, yes,» Brisson told The Athletic earlier this season.''

«The respect that both players have for each organization. Claude will have his number in the rafters in Philly one day, I do believe, and obviously Patrick as well in Chicago. Both players are very respected on those teams. Claude at the beginning of last season wanted to see how things were going to go with the Flyers. We realized pretty soon, by November, that if he wanted a chance at trying to win a Cup last season, he would have to make a decision. And he picked Florida. The Panthers were one of the most attractive teams at the trade deadline.''
