Star Player Used His Stick as a Weapon and is Likely to be Suspended Long Term For Intending to Injure
A game misconduct penalty, and a intent to injury 5 minute major was assessed when one of the league's best offensive players used his stick as a weapon yesterday.
Drew Doughty of the Los Angeles Kings got into a fight with Kirill Kaprizov, who struck him across the face with the stick, and in his neck area which could have turned out to be the second bloody incident of the night.
Kaprizov will likely receive more games as a result of the stick attack, and he deserves more than the two games that Matthew Tkachuk and Josh Anderson earned last week. George Parros and the NHL player safety committee will be looking into this matter tomorrow.
