The Chicago Blackhawks power play has set a precedent in the NHL as one of the worst.

The power-play units have only converted on three out of 10 chances this season.

They have a 10.3% power-play percentage, which is near the bottom of the NHL.

When Tyler Johnson was asked about it, he didn't hold back calling the power play "sh***y".

"I thought it was pretty sh---y," Johnson said bluntly when asked what his assessment of the game was. "It starts with the PP. We can't be playing like that. It's a privilege to be out there and we're just not doing anything right now. It's pretty embarrassing, and it turns the tide of the game. I mean, you see their PP, they score goals and it's a big difference."

As a result, the team went 1-3 on the power play against Detroit, continuing their inability to score on special teams.

"And then also, yeah you want to score goals but you've got to take care of your own net, you've got to be smart with the puck, smart with where you're at, and sometimes you have to give something up in order for them to not get something. You have to be back, you have to kind of not dive for that extra puck, and right now we're just taking too many chances for whatever reason and almost trying to force things."

Apart from the Carolina Hurricanes with five short-handed goals, the team has also conceded four short-handed goals this season.

Tyler Johnson fed up with #Blackhawks' power-play woes: 'It's embarrassing'

The team was too lackadaisical on the power play; the team needed to control the puck and have speed while making decisions that would help convert on the power play, and Johnson felt the team was not taking advantage of it.

Moreover, he criticized the team for not being smart with the puck and not protecting the net on special teams.

He isn't the only one frustrated with the team's effort on the power-play as during the game, you saw Connor Bedard break his stick after a failed power-play chance, gone wrong.
