Seth Jones is using the public bully pulpit to facilitate a trade, and GM Kyle Davidson should honor that wish.

The latest rumors for defenseman Seth Jones are vast and have multiple teams linked to the Blackhawks player.
One of those is his hometown Dallas Stars, a contending team that could be on his radar. But there's a new suitor in town for Jones, the Florida Panthers.
The reason Jones wants to leave Chicago is another reason why he left Columbus in the first place, he wants to win a Stanley Cup.
Since 2022, the team has engaged in a rebuild, something Jones didn't sign up for long-term.
His recent comments have led us to believe that he is pressuring the GM to get a deal done, as he's fed up with the Hawks.
«We're the exact same team right now as we were in Game 1,» Jones said following the loss. «It's pretty evident out there. We haven't made any strides to be a better, more simple hockey team, and it shows.»

While the defenseman hasn't had the best season of his career with the Blackhawks a contender like the Florida Panthers could find use for him.
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman recently linked the defenseman to the team, and could result in a reunion with Sergei Bobrovsky, and GM Bill Zito.
A no-brainer should this happen.
I'll tell you, Gordie. I'm going to throw one other team in there. And the team I really wonder about is Florida. They have been looking for a right-hand shot all year, and there are connections here. Bill Zito Columbus, right? Also, if Matthew Tkachuk is out for the regular season and we're still waiting for them to update his timeline, then they can do it. So, to me, I see a hockey fit, a personal fit and potentially a cap fit there, at least for this year.

The only obstacle in any move with Jones and the Blackhawks is the massive salary cap hit he carries, and the no-movement clause (NMC) attached to his contract.
This season in 41 games with the Blackhawks he's scored only 27 points (7 G, 20 A) in a year that has plagued him with injury.
Now, the Hawks should work to facilitate a trade with the Panthers as soon as possible and recoup assets, and a good chunk of salary cap space in doing-so.
