The Chicago Blackhawks will be without veteran and Captain Nick Foligno, due to a lower-body injury suffered against the Vegas Golden Knights

The Chicago Blackhawks lost Captain Nick Foligno to a lower-body injury suffered at the start of last night's game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
He'd exit the game last in the first, and wouldn't return. This is Foligno's second season as a Blackhawk and first as Captain.
This season he's played 58 games for the Hawks, has scored 26 points (12 G, 14 A), and stuck up for his teammates enough to register 44 PIMs.
The Blackhawks put the "C" on Foligno before the beginning of the season after GM Kyle Davidson decided to let a natural leadership group form on the ice and in the locker room.
Previously, Foligno only wore the alternate captain patch after he arrived in the trade from Boston, which sent Ian Mitchell, and Alec Regula to Boston in exchange for himself, and Taylor Hall.
Foligno is typically, a Swiss army knife for the Blackhawks, as he can play in any situation, and play on special teams.
He can serve as an enforcer and isn't afraid to play in the dirty areas of the ice.
Foligno's also been Connor Bedard's mentor during his short stint in Chicago, taking him in as one of his own family members.
He's provided an invaluable service to the Blackhawks, and more than earned his yearly AAV for the team.
Foligno currently earns $4.5 million AAV, and his deal with the Hawks will expire in 2025-2026 leaving him as a UFA, should GM Kyle Davidson decide not to re-sign him.
However, he could be one of the veterans who gets an extension, as he's always put his best foot forward in the lineup, and never leaves anything on the ice for the Hawks.
For now, though, the injury hasn't been reported and we have no timetable for the return of the Blackhawks Captain.
Rest assured the Hawks will miss his contributions on and off the ice while he's absent from the locker room.
