TSN Analyst Reveals a Likely Destination For Jonathan Toews
The Chicago Blackhawks are off to a surprising hot start this season despite being named a bottom three team throughout the national hockey league, and favorites to have the worst season where they would land the first overall pick.
The Blackhawks are currently 6-5-3, six wins, five losses and three overtime losses that still earned the Blackhawks a point. The Hawks are above the Calgary Flames, Nashville predators, St.Louis Blues and many more teams.
The reasoning for the Blackhawks great success so far? Depth players, and players performing at a high-level of play as they should, like captain Jonathan Toews who is on pace for a career-best year, and is showing more heart then ever throughout the last few years... oddly enough on his final year under contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Multiple NHL analysts, reporters and even former players believe Jonathan Toews will be moved at the NHL trade deadline this season before the playoffs hit to give Toews a opportunity at another Stanley Cup before he retires in just a few years time.
But who would want the whopping $10.5 million dollar contract he holds? Realistically, nobody at all, but it is key for Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks to retain salary to move Toews to a contender.
One contender in mind according to NHL insider and analyst Pierre LeBrun is the Colorado Avalanche who are coming off a cup win, but also have a lot of cap space as their captain
Gabriel Landeskog is on LTIR. It just makes sense, Toews will fit the second line centre role that they lost when
Nazem Kadri announced his departure.
