With the NHL trying to bring diversity to the League with things like the salary cap, teams got to keep looking to the draft. Most of the good teams drafted well while others haven't been so lucky in the draft so they go through free agency or trades.
The saying now is this is a young man's game as the older players are a dying breed. NHL.com revealed the teams average age heading into the 2022-23 season here are the top 10..
1. Buffalo Sabres: Average Age: 25.9 Years Old.
2. (Tied for first) Columbus Blue Jackets: Average Age: 25.9 Years Old.
3. Detroit Red Wings: Average Age: 26.1 Years Old.
4. (Tied for third) New Jersey Devils: Average Age: 26.1 Years Old.
5. Anaheim Ducks: Average Age: 26.3 Years Old.
6. (Tied for fifth) Ottawa Senators: Average Age: 26.3 years old.
7. New York Rangers: Average Age: 26.4 Years Old.
8. Arizona Coyotes: Average Age: 26.5 Years Old.
9. (Tied for 8th) Vancouver Canucks: Average Age: 26.5 Years Old.
10. Dallas Stars: Average Age: 27.6 years old.
Fun fact the Pittsburgh Penguins are the oldest team in the League with average age of 30.0
