Toews is Willing to Sign at a Discount to Play for This Team
Jonathan Toews is going to be a free agent this offseason, so where might he end up?
Well, it seems that an insider is confident he will consider signing for cheap if it means playing for this one team...the Winnipeg Jets.
Toews, who is currently making $10.5M this season, is from the Winnipeg area and has plenty of friends and family there.
A move to Winnipeg would make sense if he is considering calling it quits in the next year or two, but anything beyond that doesn't seem reasonable for Toews or the Jets.
What makes this move intriguing is that the Jets are seemingly a playoff team to this point in the year with their 19-9-1 record, so you can expect the team to spend and build up the roster, other than Toews, this offseason.
His storied career deserves to continue beyond this season, but it will be a tough goodbye for Hawks fans if he moves on from Chicago for good.
