"The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman announced a roster move by free agent signing on Tuesday. With the NCAA free agent market opening, Bowman decided to dip into the pool and make a very intriguing move. Bowman announced the signing of Boston College forward Mike Hardman to a two year deal through the 2021-22 season. The 22 year old isn't going to wait long as he's already been assigned to the team's taxi squad after registering 19 points in 24 games this past season. The MA native stands 6'3 and 190 lbs. From Scott Powers of The Athletic:"The Blackhawks appear to have high hopes for Hardman. For one, they were willing to burn the first year of his contract. That was probably necessary considering the level of interest in him, but the tradeoff is he will be due a second contract after the 2021-22 season. Second, the Blackhawks are now up to 49 contracts for this season. The limit is 50. That could prohibit the Blackhawks at the trade deadline. They could take on one more contract without needing a corresponding move, but beyond that, they'll require contracts to go out to come in."What do you think of the signing?
