"The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman pulled off an absolute blockbuster deal on Thursday morning. Fans are upset once again as Bowman has shipped out another fan favourite. Bowman has shipped Duncan Keith to the Montreal Canadiens for a 2nd round pick, forward Paul Byron and prospect Cale Fleury. There was rumblings earlier in the season that Keith was upset with the direction of the team and could possibly be looking for a trade. The 37 year old has been having a great season and will now have a shot at another Stanley Cup with the Canadiens who are in the middle of a playoff push. Keith had an incredible career with the Blackhawks which of course included three Stanley Cups and two Norris Trophies and a Conn Smythe. In return the Blackhawks will land a second round pick from the Canadiens which was originally Tampa's along with speedy forward Paul Byron and defensive prospect Cale Fleury. Byron currently has 2 goals and 7 assists in 31 games so far this season. Fleury was the Canadiens 3rd round pick in 2017 and has registered 41 NHL games so far in his career but has spent this season with the Laval Rocket of the AHL where he's registered five assists in 17 games. More details to come. The news was originally reported by April Foolington.
