The Chicago Blackhawks remain out of a playoff spot and currently sit as the third worst team in the Western Conference. With a playoff run getting more and more unlikely, general manager Stan Bowman will likely be a seller before the NHL trade deadline. One player who continues to be mentioned in NHL trade rumors is defenseman Erik Gustafsson. Gustafsson will be an unrestricted free agent and will likely get a nice pay bump on his current $1.2million cap hit.Jesse Granger of The Athletic labels him as a likely target of the Vegas Golden Knights. The Golden Knights will be shopping for a defenseman at the trade deadline and he mentions Gustafsson as a perfect fit beside Nate Schmidt.Granger adds that the Chicago Blackhawks will likely ask for a first round pick and maybe more.
