After years of trading draft picks and prospects for immediate help and Stanley Cup runs, the Chicago Blackhawks have finally started to build up their prospect pipeline again.
While there's' the obvious names likeKirby Dach, Adam Boqvist and Nicolas Beaudin, the Hawks' have some other great prospect that aren't as well known.
Two of the Hawks' lesser known prospects received some great news on Monday.
ForwardNiklas Nordgren and Antti Saarela were named to Finland's preliminary roster for the 2020 World Junior Championships.
Nordgren who was the Hawks' 2018 third round pick makes the preliminary roster for the second year in a row. He unfortunately didn't make the final cut last year.
Saarela was the team's 2019 fourth round pick after registering two goals and 10 points for Lukko of Liiga last seasoin in 24 games.
Finland are the defending champs of the tournament so it would be great news if either made the final roster.
