The Chicago Blackhawks are currently in a really weird spot. Just over a week or two ago the Hawks were fighting to stay out of the Western Conference basement, now Chicago is just four points behind the Edmonton Oilers for the second Wild Card spot. It seems that regardless on if the Hawks make the playoffs or not, forward Brandon Saad is likely on his way out. We heard last week that the Edmonton Oilers had some interest in the forward, now it seems the Boston Bruins might make a push for the forward once he's back from injury. According to Jimmy Murphy from Boston Hockey Now, the Bruins are also possibly in talks with the Chicago Blackhawks. Those talks could center around Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad who NHL insider Elliotte Friedman says is drawing plenty of interest despite being injured. The Bruins only have $1million in cap space so they would have to send a somewhat significant salary back to make room for Saad's $6million cap hit. Saad had 11 goals and 19 points in 36 games so far this season before getting sidelined, he's expected back soon. The Bruins do have some prospects the Hawks could show interest in but as mentioned they'd have to take an NHL body back too or retain some of Saad's salary.
