The NHL Alumni Association Announces a Saddened Passing
Heartbreaking news emerged from the hockey world today, with the NHL Alumni Association sharing the passing of former NHLer Joe Kowal at the age of 67.
Joe was a talented player drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1970 NHL Draft, chosen 33rd overall in the 2nd round.
He represented the Sabres for two seasons, playing in 22 games and recording 5 points. After his time in the NHL, Joe continued his hockey journey for four more seasons in the AHL.
The NHL Alumni Association is saddened to learn that Joe Kowal has passed away at the age of 67.
Joe was drafted to the @BuffaloSabres in the 1976 @NHL Draft. He played in 22 games for the Sabres, scoring 5 points over 2 seasons.
His hockey career continued 4 more seasons playing in the AHL.
