During the 2023-2024 season, he led NHL rookies in scoring, but unfortunately, he suffered an injury after being hit by Brendan Smith of the New Jersey Devils.
As a result of this injury, Bedard is undoubtedly missing the ice, as we all know how much he loves to skate.
To ensure that his recovery continues smoothly, the Blackhawks are asking Bedard to rest and relax, something that he is not accustomed to doing.
Nick Foligno said the trainers asked for his help to keep Connor Bedard (jaw) at bay because he's already lobbying to skate: "He's dying. It's pretty funny. I'm like: 'Man, just pump the brakes a little bit.' But that's who he is. That's why you love him." #Blackhawks Charlie Roumeliotis (@CRoumeliotis) January 13, 2024
Sometimes NHL players rush back to play, even when they are still experiencing post-injury or post-viral symptoms, as a demonstration of their indomitable work ethic.
However, in Bedard's case, the team needs him to be healthy before he begins skating again. To ensure that Bedard follows the team's rules and keeps his recovery on track, the team has enlisted the help of his friend and mentor, Nick Foligno.
Although Bedard has been eager to skate again, Foligno has had to remind him to slow down and rest.

Connor Bedard was still on the ice by himself an hour after practice ended.
Gotta love the commitment!👏

Bedard must take the time he needs to fully recover so that he can get back on the ice and continue to play at his best.
But it shows, how dedicated Bedard is to the sport and his craft, you have to love it.
Bedard's 1st year as a rookie in the NHL has been a success, putting up 33 points in 39 games this season, along with an All-Star nomination.
His work ethic is second to none and if he continues on his current path, who knows what his true potential will be in a few years.
