It has been reported that the Blackhawks are scouting both the New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings late tonight.
Both teams are currently performing well in their respective divisions, with the Rangers boasting a record of 28-14-2 and the Kings holding a record of 21-13-8.
It remains unclear who the Blackhawks are targeting, but NHL Insider Elliote Friedman has suggested that the LA Kings are looking to trade forward Arthur Kaliyev.

Kaliyev is 22 years old and has struggled to secure a regular place in the Kings' lineup this season, being healthy-scratched several times.
So far, he has only scored 6 goals and 14 points in 35 games. In the previous season, Kaliyev posted 28 points in 56 games but has since been unable to find his place in the lineup under Todd McLellan.
However, Kaliyev has a lot of potential, and the Blackhawks' management duo of Kyle Davidson and Luke Richardson could see him as a valuable asset in the team's ongoing rebuilding process.
As a former 40-point forward and a towering presence in the lineup at 6' and 210 pounds, Kaliyev could be an ideal addition to the Blackhawks' roster.
If Kyle Davidson is interested in acquiring the Uzbekistan-born forward, there is a chance he could get him at a discount.
Currently, Kaliyev has a cap hit of $894K and will become a restricted free-agent at the end of the season.
As his contract is set to expire, he would be an ideal rental, unless Davidson decides to extend a qualifying offer to Kaliyev once the season ends.
